Mobile Cams: Broadcasting From a Phone

Mobile cams are live shows streamed from a phone instead of a computer and webcam. Many cam sites now support it: some through their own broadcaster apps, such as BongaCams' BM Broadcaster and Cam4's C4 App, others through the phone's browser or a third-party streaming app. Viewers see a normal room, often in portrait format.

In short

  • Own broadcaster apps: BongaCams (BM Broadcaster for iOS, Android app from bongamodels.com), Cam4 (C4 App on the App Store and Google Play) and LiveJasmin (mobile app from the Model Center).
  • Browser broadcasting from a phone: Chaturbate and Stripchat (also as a PWA), plus Cam4 through Safari on iOS.
  • Stripchat also documents a third-party app, Plasma Streaming, as supported software.
  • SkyPrivate shows run through Teams, Discord or its SP Chat, all of which work on phones.
  • For several sites (CamSoda, MyFreeCams, Cams.com, Flirt4Free, ImLive, Streamate) mobile broadcasting is not documented on public pages.

This page is for performers and anyone curious about how mobile rooms work. If you want to watch cams on your phone, our cam site apps guide covers that side. It is part of our cam site features series.

Why mobile cams exist

A phone is a complete broadcasting kit: camera, microphone and connection in one. It lets performers go live away from a desk and lowers the cost of starting. Streamate even has a "Mobile" category listing performers who stream from mobile, so viewers can look for that style on purpose.

App store rules shape how this works. Apple's guidelines ban "overtly sexual or pornographic material" and Google Play bans sexually gratifying content, so cam platforms cannot offer full viewer apps in those stores. Broadcaster apps do appear in stores (Cam4's C4 App, BongaCams' BM Broadcaster), while other platforms rely on the phone's browser.

In the table above, "Broadcast app" means a documented app route for performers (Stripchat's counts because it officially supports Plasma Streaming). The iOS and Android columns are viewer apps, which almost no platform has.

BM Broadcaster and the BongaCams Android app

BongaModels, the performer side of BongaCams, names BM Broadcaster as its iOS streaming app. The App Store lists the seller as GLORYVASE LTD. On Android the app is downloaded from bongamodels.com rather than Google Play, which means allowing installs from unknown sources. BongaCams performers can also stream from the mobile website or use OBS on a computer.

Sideloaded apps face a new hurdle: Google's Android developer verification applies on certified devices from 30 September 2026 in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, with a global rollout planned for 2027. Google says unregistered apps can still be installed through an "advanced flow".

The C4 App on Cam4

Cam4's C4 App (formerly C4 Broadcaster) is in both stores: "C4 - Broadcast From Anywhere" on the App Store and "C4 Broadcaster" on Google Play, from the Granity group. Cam4 announced the iOS launch on 22 July 2026. From the app, performers can go live, accept private shows, set goals, message fans and record shows to their Media Vault for later sale. Cam4 also supports broadcasting from Safari on iOS.

Browser broadcasting on Chaturbate and Stripchat

Chaturbate has no app. Its help center says you can broadcast from the mobile browser, in portrait or landscape, on iOS (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet) and Android (Chrome, Samsung Internet). Private shows and tip notes work; sending chat messages while broadcasting from mobile is listed as "coming soon".

Stripchat has no native app either. Performers stream from Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS or the installable PWA, and Stripchat documents the third-party Plasma Streaming app (App Store and Google Play, 480p to 1080p at up to 60 fps) as supported external software.

Limitations of streaming from a phone

  • Fewer tools. Chaturbate's mobile broadcaster cannot send chat messages yet, and phone apps rarely match desktop software for overlays and scenes.
  • Device support. Stripchat does not support Honor, ZTE and Huawei phones for browser streaming.
  • Connection. Stripchat recommends 4 Mbps up and down for 720p. Mobile data can be less stable than a wired line, which Chaturbate recommends for desktop broadcasting.
  • Verification still applies. Every person on camera must pass the platform's ID checks, whatever device is used.
  • Not documented everywhere. We found no public mobile broadcasting documentation for CamSoda, MyFreeCams, Cams.com, Flirt4Free, ImLive or Streamate (Jerkmate performers stream through Streamate).

FAQ

Can you cam from your phone?

Yes, on several sites. BongaCams, Cam4 and LiveJasmin offer broadcaster apps, Chaturbate and Stripchat support broadcasting from the mobile browser, and SkyPrivate calls run on phone messaging apps.

Which cam sites have a broadcaster app?

BongaCams (BM Broadcaster for iOS, Android app from bongamodels.com), Cam4 (C4 App on the App Store and Google Play) and LiveJasmin (mobile app from the Model Center). Stripchat supports the third-party Plasma Streaming app.

How do I stream on Chaturbate from my phone?

Log in to your broadcaster account in a supported mobile browser and use the Broadcast button. There is no app; portrait and landscape both work.

Is there a Stripchat app for models?

Not a Stripchat-made one. Models use the mobile browser, the PWA, OBS on a computer, or the third-party Plasma Streaming app that Stripchat documents.
