Chaturbate Review

Chaturbate is a free-to-watch adult cam site where public rooms run on tips: you can watch without an account or a card, and you only pay when you buy tokens to tip, start a private show or join a fan club. In this Chaturbate review we explain how it works, what is and is not published about token prices, how billing and privacy work, and what performers earn per token.

What Is Chaturbate?

Chaturbate is one of the longest-running tip-based cam platforms. The site footer dates it to 2011, and its Terms name the operator as Multi Media, LLC, which Chaturbate's support articles describe as a US company. Some purchases may be processed by UAB Alternative Payments in Vilnius, Lithuania, which the Terms describe as an EU-based purchase facilitator.

The model is "freemium": live rooms are open to everyone, and performers earn from tips, private shows, fan clubs and content sales. When we checked the site logged out on October 14, 2026, the homepage showed live rooms with viewer counts, tabs for Featured, Women, Men, Couples and Trans, country and room-size filters, and a filter for private show prices in tokens per minute. Every performer on Chaturbate must be 18 or older and age-verified, including anyone else who appears on camera.

How Does Chaturbate Work?

A Chaturbate room is a public live stream with a chat beside it. Performers set goals and tip menus, and viewers tip tokens to reach a goal or order from the menu. Paid one-on-one time is optional: a viewer requests a private show, and the performer decides whether to accept.

  • Guests can browse and watch public rooms logged out.
  • Free members get a username so they can chat, follow performers and buy tokens.
  • Token holders can tip, request private shows, spy on shows, buy tickets, join fan clubs and buy photos or videos.
  • Supporters pay a monthly membership for extras such as starting private messages and anonymous tipping.

Broadcasters can block their room for countries, US states, Canadian provinces and UK regions, for "Viewers, both anonymous and registered", so a room visible in one place may be hidden in another. Our guide to how webcam sites work explains the tip model in general.

Free Chat: Is Chaturbate Free?

Yes, for watching. Chaturbate's help center says: "On Chaturbate, anyone can watch cams and broadcast themselves free of charge. No credit card needed." The Terms add that "there is no fee to access the Platform and view content." Joining is also free for both viewers and broadcasters.

What costs money is anything that uses tokens: tips, private and spy shows, ticket shows, fan clubs and paid photo or video sets. The Supporter membership is a separate monthly charge.

Can you use Chaturbate without registration?

Yes. The homepage and public rooms loaded logged out on October 14, 2026, so you can watch without creating an account. To chat in a room, follow performers or buy tokens you need a free account. Private Shows and Other Paid Show Types

Chaturbate's help center lists several paid show formats. All are priced in tokens, and the performer sets the rate.

Private shows

A private show is charged per minute at the broadcaster's rate, and the broadcaster can add a minimum show length. Only viewers can request a private; broadcasters cannot start one. The homepage filter grouped rooms into 6, 12 to 18, 30 to 42, 60 to 72 and 90+ tokens per minute when we checked. As a simple token example: a 10-minute private at 60 tokens per minute uses 600 tokens.

Private shows are recorded by default, and a recording of any show lasting 30 seconds or longer goes to the buyer's "My Collection". Broadcasters can turn recording off.

Premium private shows

Premium private shows have their own per-minute price and minimum, and nobody can spy on them. This is the closest Chaturbate gets to what other sites call a true private show.

Spy shows

From the Private Shows tab you can "Spy On This Private Show" for a set number of tokens per minute. Broadcasters can disable spying or set the spy rate, and some require a minimum token balance. Spies see the stream but not the private chat. Spy prices are not documented as a range, because each broadcaster sets them. Our spy mode explainer compares how other sites handle it.

Ticket, hidden and password shows

Chaturbate has no pay-per-minute group show. Instead, broadcasters run "hidden" or ticket shows through apps: you buy a ticket by tipping a set number of tokens. Password shows are paid by a tip agreed in advance. Both work like a group show with a fixed entry price.

Cam to Cam

Cam to Cam lets a viewer share video (no audio) with a creator, who has to accept. The help center now says it requires completing Chaturbate's "streamlined age verification process" "due to age verification law requirements". No separate Cam to Cam price is published.

Chaturbate Token System

Tokens are Chaturbate's only currency. You buy them in packages, spend them in rooms, and performers convert them into cash. The numbers differ by side:

  • Viewer side: what one token costs depends on the package, payment method and region. The card packages are not public (see below).
  • Performer side: every token converts at a fixed $0.05, so 100 tokens are worth $5.00 to the broadcaster and 1,000 tokens $50.00.

How Much Are Chaturbate Tokens?

This is where Chaturbate is less transparent than some rivals. On October 14, 2026 the token purchase page redirected logged-out visitors to the login page, and none of the help-center articles we read list the card packages. So we cannot publish a verified Chaturbate price list. What Chaturbate does publish:

  • Reference value: the Supporter membership article describes its 200-token bonus as "worth $20.99", about $0.105 per token. Treat this as a reference point, not a confirmed current package.
  • Wire transfer: minimum $250, and "all purchases are credited at $0.08 per token", so $1,000 buys 12,500 tokens.
  • Check or money order: minimum $160 in USD, payable to Multi Media LLC.
  • Cryptocurrency: minimum 250 tokens; Chaturbate says crypto "gives you the best rate", but the rate is not stated.
  • VAT: a new help article (October 2026) says that depending on your region, VAT may be included and the price "may be updated after you enter your billing information".

Comparing the two published rates with the fixed $0.05 broadcaster value, the performer receives roughly 48% of what a viewer paid at the $20.99 reference value and about 63% at the $0.08 wire rate. How much does Chaturbate cost overall?

Watching costs nothing. Beyond that:

  • Tips and shows: whatever tokens you choose to spend, at the rates each performer sets.
  • Supporter membership: $19.95 per month. It removes ads, lets you pick a chat font and color, lets you start private messages (otherwise the broadcaster has to message first), allows anonymous tipping and room previews, and includes a one-time bonus of 200 tokens.
  • Fan clubs: a monthly fee the broadcaster picks from a price list. Members get a green username and fan-club content. If the broadcaster raises the price, existing members keep their original price; the help center's example is a $5.99 membership that stays $5.99 after a rise to $10.99.

Features

Chaturbate is built around tools for public rooms rather than paid private time:

  • Tipping tools: tip menus, tip goals, apps and bots from the App Directory, and offline tips. Our guide to tipping explains the mechanics.
  • Interactive toys: toys that vibrate on tips; the help center notes that "Lovense toys are popular on Chaturbate". See interactive toys.
  • Recorded content: performers sell photos and videos on their bio page (free, for tokens or fan-club only), and private show recordings go to My Collection. See recorded shows.
  • Fan clubs: monthly memberships with exclusive content, explained on our fan clubs page.
  • Multi-performer rooms: up to 5 independently verified broadcasters can be on camera at once, and guest accounts let up to 5 age-verified accounts appear in a broadcast.
  • Stream quality: broadcasters can stream via OBS from 240p up to 4K, and Chaturbate converts streams to several quality levels.
  • Discovery: category tabs, a private-price filter and, since August 2026, a country filter (creators opt in).

We found no VR feature in the help center.

Mobile Experience: Does Chaturbate Have an App?

No. Chaturbate's help center says "there is no official 'app' for Chaturbate, but you can still add an icon to your home screen". App Store searches in the US, UK and Germany returned no Chaturbate app on October 14, 2026, and Google Play showed none from Chaturbate or Multi Media. Any app claiming to be Chaturbate is unofficial.

The mobile site does the work instead: "You can broadcast, watch videos, hear sound, tip, and chat on mobile devices." You can add a home-screen shortcut from Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android or Samsung Internet. Apple's and Google's store rules ban sexually explicit apps, so a store listing is not where an adult cam site lives. Our Chaturbate on mobile guide shows the setup step by step.

Payment Methods

Chaturbate's "How do I buy tokens" article lists:

  • Visa, MasterCard and Discover (see paying by credit card)
  • Cryptocurrency: BTC, LTC, DOGE, ETH, BCH, AVAX and DOT, minimum 250 tokens (see crypto on cam sites)
  • Wire transfer, minimum $250, credited at $0.08 per token
  • Certified check or money order in USD, minimum $160
  • Gift cards through PayGarden, at a rate that depends on the card (more on prepaid and gift cards)
  • "Over 37 other payment methods" that vary by location

Privacy and Billing

How does Chaturbate billing appear on your statement?

Chaturbate does not publish the text that appears on a card statement; we found no billing descriptor in the help center or Terms. The Terms say some purchases may be processed by UAB Alternative Payments in Lithuania, so the merchant name may differ by purchase, but we could not confirm what it shows. Recurring charges and refunds

Three things can renew automatically: the Supporter membership, fan clubs (both cancelled on desktop at My Profile > Memberships) and Auto Refill. The Terms say that otherwise "you will not be billed for the same purchase on a recurring basis". See how to stop recurring billing if you need to cancel.

Refunds are limited. Tips are final when sent, tokens spent on member content "will not be refunded for any reason", and billing errors must be reported within 30 days of appearing on a statement. Disputes about a broadcaster go through a support ticket.

Is Chaturbate safe?

Chaturbate is an established platform with an identified US operator, published Terms and several privacy tools. How safe it is for you also depends on your own settings. What the official pages show:

  • Account security: 2-Step Verification by SMS, phone call, authenticator app or YubiKey, through the Security Center. Chaturbate says its authenticator and SMS messages do not mention Chaturbate. See our account security checklist.
  • Anonymity: Supporters can tip anonymously. Payout checks and envelopes for performers say Multi Media LLC, not Chaturbate.
  • Age verification: required for Cam to Cam. Texas sued Multi Media under its age-verification law in March 2024; Chaturbate added age verification in Texas and settled for a $675,000 civil penalty in April 2024. A 2025 suit over Kansas' law was sent to arbitration and dismissed on March 4, 2026. No public Chaturbate page lists every place where viewers must verify on entry; for the legal background see cam sites in the US.
  • UK: UK law has required "highly effective" age checks on all sites that allow pornography since July 25, 2025 (Ofcom). We found no official Chaturbate page describing how it checks UK viewers. More on UK rules.
  • Sweden: since June 30, 2025, members in Sweden cannot buy, send or receive tokens, and their fan club and Supporter memberships were cancelled. The site itself was not blocked.

To close your account, use the "Disable Account" link at the bottom of the homepage while logged in; accounts deactivated for over 120 days cannot be reactivated, and the username is kept to prevent impersonation. Our cam site privacy guide and account deletion guide go further.

For Models: Creator Features and Payouts

Anyone 18 or older can sign up to broadcast for free. To get paid, broadcasters sign the Independent Broadcaster Agreement and verify with a valid, unexpired government-issued plastic ID (driver's license or passport) plus a selfie. Everyone who appears on camera must be verified, and studios can open studio accounts.

How much do Chaturbate models earn?

Chaturbate does not publish average earnings. It publishes the rate: "Tokens convert to cash at a rate of $0.05 each". So 1,000 tokens in tips are $50.00 to the broadcaster and 10,000 tokens are $500.00, whatever package the viewer bought. In the 10-minute, 60-token-per-minute private example above, the broadcaster would earn 600 tokens, or $30.

  • Schedule: two pay periods a month (1st to 15th and 16th to month end), sent within 7 business days. Daily payouts on weekdays are available for a $3.95 fee after 2 regular payouts in the US or 4 internationally.
  • Minimum payout: $50 for most methods (Paxum, CosmoPayment, SEPA, USPS check, Canada EFT, ACH); $200 for crypto and FedEx checks.
  • Methods: Paxum, CosmoPayment, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, USD Coin, SEPA, check by mail or FedEx, Canada EFT, ACH direct deposit (US) and wire transfer, each with its own fee.
  • Tools: in-browser or OBS broadcasting, mobile-browser broadcasting, geo-blocking down to US states and UK regions, ChaturSafe chat filters, moderators, and a NEW tag for the first 80 streaming hours within 30 days.

Chaturbate Review: Final Verdict

Chaturbate is still the easiest place to start watching adult live cams: no account, no card, many public rooms and deep tipping tools. Its weak spots are price transparency and billing information: token packages are hidden until you log in, no statement descriptor is published, and messaging perks need a monthly membership. For performers, the fixed $0.05 per token and the published payout table are among the clearest terms we have seen. Choose Chaturbate for free public rooms and tipping; look at the alternatives if you want exact prices before you sign up.
