Recorded Shows and Videos on Cam Sites
Recorded cam shows come in two kinds: recordings of paid shows (often your own private show, saved to your account) and videos or photos that performers sell as premium content. Most platforms offer both, but the rules on who can record, whether you can download, and how long you keep access differ a lot from site to site.
In short
- Chaturbate and MyFreeCams save your private shows to your account by default; Stripchat and CamSoda only if the model allows it.
- Recordings are usually for viewing on the site, not for download. Stripchat's are capped at 720p and not downloadable.
- Performers sell videos and photos for tokens, credits or cash on nearly every platform; prices are set by the performer.
- Access can expire: LiveJasmin premium content is available for 90 days, and BongaCams keeps Full-private recordings only while the model's profile is active.
- Recording live shows yourself is against the rules on Streamate, whose terms say members may not record.
This guide is part of our cam site features series. Recordings mostly come from private shows and group and ticket shows, so those pages help with the background.
Recordings of your own private shows
Several platforms keep a copy of a private show for the member who paid for it, so you can watch it again later inside your account.
- Chaturbate: private shows are recorded by default, and the recording goes to the buyer's "My Collection" for shows of 30 seconds or longer. Broadcasters can turn recording off.
- MyFreeCams: private shows are saved to your Archives for free, but the wiki warns "Archives are NOT GUARANTEED".
- Stripchat: private and exclusive private recordings are saved to "My Collection" only if the model allows it; maximum 720p, not downloadable.
- CamSoda: the recording goes to your media collection if the model enables recording, and this is stated before the show starts.
- BongaCams: Full-private recordings stay available to the member while the model's profile is active. Rooms can carry a "Recordable" tag.
- Flirt4Free: most paid shows are recorded automatically into its video library; VIP members get unlimited access to their own recorded shows.
Paid videos and premium content
Separate from show recordings, performers sell photos and videos at prices they set. This is how they earn when they are offline.
| Platform | Where content is sold | How it is unlocked |
|---|---|---|
| Chaturbate | Bio page photo and video sets | Free, for tokens or fan-club only |
| Stripchat | Albums and paid public-show recordings | Free, friends-only or paid; public-show recordings have a per-minute record fee |

| CamSoda | Videos, images, recorded shows | Model-set price; Golden Ticket and group show recordings can be sold |
| MyFreeCams | MFC Share albums, videos (streaming up to 4K), collections | Tokens or club pricing |
| Cam4 | Activity Feed posts from a Media Vault | Public, token-locked (one-time unlock) or fan-club only |
| LiveJasmin | MyContent and Stories | Free or premium; premium content 90 days, premium Stories 7 days |
| Streamate / Jerkmate | Performer videos, Jerkmate Video Store | Per-video prices in USD set by the performer |
| Cams.com | Recorded Shows, videos, photo albums | 50 tokens per recorded show for standard members; free for fan club and Premium members |
| XLoveCam | Free galleries and paid VIP content | VIP subscription; one free VIP video a day for logged-in users |
| SkyPrivate | Profile Store | Watch in Store > My videos; VIP members can download |
ImLive has a Videos section and pays hosts for "Professional Videos or Expert Tutorials", but member-side prices could not be confirmed.
Flirt4Free's video model
Flirt4Free goes furthest with recordings. Most paid shows become videos on demand, sold at performer-set prices. You can buy single videos, a Show Pass (24 hours, or a 30-day pass that recurs) or a Model Pass package. Its Director's Vault pays the original customer 10% of later sales of a show they shared. VIP members get three free videos a month (valued "up to 120 credits") and 5% off videos.

Recording policies: what you may and may not do
- Do not record shows yourself. Streamate's terms say members may not record live shows. Treat this as the default everywhere: performers' content is theirs, and the platforms' own recording features are the permitted route.
- Performers can say no. Chaturbate broadcasters can turn private recording off, and Stripchat and CamSoda recordings depend on the model's setting.
- Downloads are rare. Stripchat recordings are not downloadable; SkyPrivate lets VIP members download Store videos.
- Purchased content may outlive the performer's account, or not. Stripchat's terms say purchased content stays available even if the model deletes their account; BongaCams' Full-private recordings stay only while the profile is active.
What it costs, and refunds
Video and content prices are set by performers and are rarely visible logged out, so we do not list typical prices. The fixed numbers we could confirm are Cams.com's 50 tokens per recorded show for standard members and Stripchat's per-minute record fee for public shows (rate not published). Fan clubs often make content cheaper or free; see fan clubs.
Refunds on content are limited. Chaturbate says tokens given for member content "will not be refunded for any reason", and LiveJasmin lists content and Stories among non-refundable purchases. Check what you are buying before you pay. For per-site token values, see Chaturbate token value or the token converter.
Privacy: your own recordings
A recording saved to your account is tied to your username, so it is worth thinking about who can open your account. Use a strong password and two-step verification where offered; our cam account security guide covers the basics.
FAQ
Are private cam shows recorded?
On some sites, for the buyer: by default on Chaturbate (shows of 30 seconds or longer) and MyFreeCams, and on Stripchat and CamSoda if the model allows it. Performers can turn recording off on Chaturbate.
Can I download my private show recording?
Usually not. Stripchat recordings are view-only and capped at 720p. SkyPrivate is an exception for Store videos, which VIP members can download.
Can I record a cam show myself?
No. Streamate's terms say members may not record live shows, and performers own their content. Use the platform's own recording or video features instead.
How long do purchased videos stay available?
It varies. LiveJasmin premium content stays for 90 days, premium Stories for 7 days, BongaCams Full-private recordings while the model's profile is active, and Stripchat purchases stay even if the model deletes their account.
