Tip Menu
A tip menu is a performer's published price list: each line names an action or request and the number of tokens (or credits) a viewer tips to ask for it. It turns open-ended tipping into fixed prices that everyone in the room can see. Most freemium cam sites support tip menus, and premium sites have their own versions.
In short
- Definition: a list of tip amounts and what each one requests.
- The performer sets the items and prices; the platform only provides the tool.
- Tips are usually final once sent, menu or not.
- Credit and dollar-based sites use similar menus: Streamate and Jerkmate call it a Gold Menu.
How a tip menu works
In a public room, the tip menu sits next to the video or appears in chat on a timer. A viewer picks a line, sends that exact amount as a tip, and the performer sees the request with the tip.
A tip menu is not a contract. The performer decides what is on it, can change prices at any time and can refuse requests that break the platform's rules. Everything on a menu must stay within the platform's terms; performers cannot offer anything those terms prohibit.
Menus sit inside the general tipping system, which we explain on how tipping works on cam sites.
Tip menus on the main platforms
| Platform | What the official pages say |
|---|---|
| Chaturbate | Tip menus and tip goals run as apps and bots from the App Directory. Terms: all tips are final, and tipping for specific acts is prohibited. |
| Stripchat | Tip menus are a standard earning tool; Fan Club tiers can include tip-menu discounts. Models can refund tips received in the last 20 minutes. |
| BongaCams | Tip menu ordering came to the mobile version in July 2025; an October 2026 Sex Toy menu lists vibration options with duration, level and token cost. |
| CamSoda | Tip menus in public and private; the Insider fan club tier gives 10% off the tip menu. |
| MyFreeCams | Tip menus are part of MFC Share, the model's content storefront. |
| Cam4 | A tip menu is part of the broadcaster's profile setup, next to Gifts and the Games Center. |
| Streamate / Jerkmate | Each model has a "Gold Menu" paid in GOLD, where one GOLD equals USD 1.00. |
| LiveJasmin | "Request Actions" priced in credits; the about page gives examples such as 10 or 15 credits. |
Note the Chaturbate wording. Its help center lists tip menus among room apps, while its Terms prohibit "tipping for specific acts". Chaturbate does not explain on the pages we read how the two fit together, so we report both rather than guess.
Are tip menu tips refundable?
Usually not. Chaturbate's terms call tips gratuities that are final when sent. Stripchat's terms say tips are gifts and never refunded, though its refund policy allows token refunds for tips only with "a clear agreement on the exact request and amount", and models can return tips received in the last 20 minutes. A tip menu line is the clearest form of that agreement, which is one reason performers publish them. Read the platform's refund page before you rely on it.
Costs: what a menu item is in money
A menu price in tokens means different money on different sites, because token prices and token values differ. On Chaturbate and Stripchat a performer receives USD 0.05 per token; on Cam4 USD 0.10. What the viewer pays per token depends on the package. Use the token to dollar converter to translate a menu price into your currency, and see how tokens work for the background.
Tips for performers
- Keep the menu short so it stays readable on a phone screen.
- Price in steps that match common tip amounts on your platform.
- Pair the menu with a tip goal so small tips add up to something visible.
- Check the platform's rules on what menus may contain before publishing.
