Chaturbate Stops Token Sales and Payouts in Sweden
Since 18:00 on 30 June 2025, Chaturbate members in Sweden can no longer buy, send or receive tokens, or convert tokens into payouts, and their fan club and Supporter memberships were cancelled. Chaturbate tied the move to changes in Sweden's Sex Purchase Act. The site itself was not blocked. Cam4 made a similar change for Swedish IP addresses.

What Chaturbate changed in Sweden
Chaturbate's help article "Recent Changes for Community Members in Sweden" lists the effects, which started at 18:00 on 30 June 2025:
- members in Sweden cannot buy tokens;
- they cannot send or receive tokens, so tipping and paid shows are off;
- broadcasters in Sweden cannot convert tokens into payouts;
- existing fan club memberships and Supporter memberships (USD 19.95 a month elsewhere) were cancelled.
The article says the site was not blocked "as of this writing", so Swedish visitors can still open public rooms. Everything that involves paying a performer is switched off. Chaturbate gives the reason as changes to Sweden's Sex Purchase Act. It publishes no other official country block list.
How Cam4 handled the same law
Cam4 took a narrower approach. Its help article on Swedish Law Proposition 2024/25:124 says that for users on Swedish IP addresses:

Why this is different from age-check laws
Most 2025-2026 rules for adult sites are about who can watch: the UK's Online Safety Act and US state laws require proof of age, but adults can keep paying for shows. The Swedish change, as the platforms describe it, targets paying for live interaction, so the platforms switched off payments and interactive features instead of adding an age check. We have not read the Swedish law itself and rely on how the two platforms describe it.
What it means for viewers and models
For viewers in Sweden, Chaturbate is now watch-only. Free public rooms still load, but tipping, private shows and fan clubs are gone. Cam4 keeps free viewing and some paid non-live features. If you are elsewhere, nothing changed.
For performers based in Sweden, the Chaturbate change is the bigger one: tokens can no longer be turned into payouts. Models in other countries are not affected, and platform geo-blocking tools still let any model hide from countries they choose.
