Chaturbate vs CAM4: the short verdict

Both are freemium: anyone can watch public shows, tokens pay for tips and paid shows, and performers set their own private rates. Chaturbate is operated by Multi Media, LLC in the US. CAM4 is owned by Tropistream Corporation N.V. (Curaçao), with Irish and US companies supplying memberships; its copyright line dates to 2007.

Viewers who want the widest choice and buy tokens in bulk will lean to Chaturbate. Viewers who like clearly packaged shows, and performers who want a mobile broadcaster app, should look at CAM4. Our full Chaturbate review and CAM4 review go further.

In the price row, Chaturbate's figure is a reference value (200 tokens "worth $20.99" in its help center), not a confirmed package price, and CAM4's figures are euros from an EU checkout before its transaction fee.

Free shows

Chaturbate's terms say "There is no fee to access the Platform and view content", and its homepage lists live rooms logged out with category, country and private-price filters. CAM4's directory also loads logged out, and guests can watch public rooms. On both, regional laws can trigger an age check first: CAM4 shows a message asking visitors in some regions to create a free account and verify. Compare more free cam sites.

Private shows and other paid formats

CAM4 says its average private show is priced at about 12.57 tokens per minute. Its fixed-rate option sells a block of time (for example 15 minutes for 50 tokens), and group show ticket holders are refunded automatically if the show is cancelled or the performer leaves for more than five minutes. Token prices and expiry

Checked 2026-10-14. Source: omnivaults.com. Read 2026-10-14 from the public checkout endpoint that cam4.com calls for logged-out visitors (EU geo: server in the Netherlands; the directory defaulted to 'Netherlands' filter), so prices are EUR and may differ by country. Each product carries a 'tf' (transaction fee) flag; the FAQ confirms 'Token purchases have a transaction fee' and the UI string reads 'A {amount} transaction fee will be added to your purchase' - amount not shown logged out. Live campaign 2026-10-14: 'First Purchase? Get 15% More Tokens' (15% bonus on the 50/100/250/500 packages). Larger packages with bigger discounts exist for long-standing members on request to support. USD prices were not visible from this geo.

Chaturbate does not show card packages without login and may add VAT by region. Its public rates are $0.08 per token for wire transfers (minimum $250) and a $20.99 reference value for 200 tokens. See Chaturbate pricing and Chaturbate token value.

The bigger difference is expiry. CAM4's terms, revised September 8, 2026, say purchased tokens unused for six months expire without refund. Our Chaturbate research found no similar expiry rule in its help center, but check its terms if you hold a large balance. If you buy in bulk and spend slowly, that matters more than a few cents per token.

Memberships and subscriptions

• Chaturbate Supporter: $19.95 per month, auto-renews; ad-free, start private messages, anonymous tips, 200 free tokens once.
• CAM4 Gold: €19.99 per 30 days on the EU checkout, or 125 tokens a month; ad-free, private messages to models, anonymous tipping and chat, chat translations, monthly Boost, 100 tokens on upgrade.
• Fan clubs: Chaturbate's renew monthly at a broadcaster-set price, and existing members keep their joining price if it rises. CAM4's start at $1 a month (taxes added), card only, and rebill every 30 days without a reminder email.

Features

Both support Lovense-style interactive toys, and neither documents VR. CAM4 adds games (Roll the Dice, Token Keno, Spin the Wheel), Boost (25 tokens for 5 minutes) and 75+ niche feeds launched in March 2026. Chaturbate adds an App Directory of room bots, homepage country filters and up to 5 verified broadcasters per room.

Mobile and apps

Neither has a viewer app in Apple's or Google's store; both work in mobile browsers with a home-screen shortcut. For performers, CAM4 has an official broadcaster app, C4, on iOS (since July 2026) and Android. Chaturbate broadcasters stream from the mobile browser or OBS instead. See cam site apps.

Payments, billing and privacy

Chaturbate accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, seven cryptocurrencies, wire, money orders, gift cards and over 37 local methods. It does not publish a statement descriptor. It offers 2-step verification including YubiKey.

CAM4 accepts cards (via Epoch, SegPay and others), PayPal, Paysafe, pay by phone in some countries, iDEAL, Bancontact, Sofort and US gift cards. It says charges appear as GRANITY ENTERTAINMENT, and two-factor verification is mandatory for members who buy. More in how cam sites bill and cam site payment methods.

Regions

Both restrict users in Sweden after its 2025 law change. Chaturbate stopped token buying, sending and payouts for Swedish members on June 30, 2025. CAM4 blocks chat, messaging, private shows and paid requests for Swedish IPs but still allows free public shows, Gold and fan clubs. In the UK, Ofcom named CAM4 in June 2025 among services committing to age checks.

For models: payout comparison

CAM4 pays $0.10 per token and 80% of fan club subscriptions paid by card, with a $50 minimum on most methods and schedules from daily to weekly. Chaturbate pays $0.05 per token, twice a month or daily for a $3.95 fee, also with a $50 minimum on most methods. Because a CAM4 token also costs viewers more, the per-token rate alone does not tell you who earns more per viewer dollar.
