Token vs credit cam sites at a glance

What is a token cam site?

On a token site you buy a package of tokens and spend them inside rooms. The public show is free and funded by viewers who tip, often against a tip menu or a goal. Paid shows (private, exclusive, spy, group or ticket) cost a set number of tokens per minute or per show, usually chosen by the performer.

The model's side is simple on most token sites: each token converts to a fixed amount. Chaturbate, Stripchat, CamSoda and MyFreeCams pay $0.05 per token and CAM4 pays $0.10. BongaCams' FAQ states €0.025 per token. Because viewers pay more per token on small packages than on big ones, the platform's share changes with the package while the model's per-token value does not. What is a credit cam site?

Credit sites, also called premium or pay-per-minute sites, put paid private time at the center. LiveJasmin's terms keep nudity for private mode; Cams.com allows no full nudity in free chat; SkyPrivate has no public rooms at all and only sells one-on-one calls. Rates are per minute and set by the performer within the site's limits.

What a credit is worth varies a lot:

• Cash-like credits: XLoveCam credits are euro amounts in an e-wallet. Streamate and Jerkmate use GOLD, where one GOLD equals $1. ImLive's host agreement says hosts are deemed to charge members $1 per ImLive Credit.
• Small-unit credits: Flirt4Free deducts "one credit at a time", with standard privates at 30 to 60 credits per minute. LiveJasmin credits sit in between, with price filters from 0.01 to 9.99+ credits per minute.
• No credits: Streamate bills paid chat directly in your local currency, and SkyPrivate uses a prepaid US dollar balance.

Private show prices on token and credit sites

On a token site, multiply the rate by your price per token. For example, MyFreeCams' fixed 60 tokens per minute is about $4.75 to $6.00 per minute at its package prices. How you are billed: per second, per minute or prepaid

• Per second: LiveJasmin and BongaCams bill private shows per second; MyFreeCams charges 1 token per second in a private.
• Short intervals: CamSoda collects tokens every 10 seconds.
• Full minutes: XLoveCam rounds up to the full minute, and SkyPrivate charges at the start and then every 60 seconds, rounded up.
• Card-on-file billing: Streamate charges card users "$2.00 USD or an amount equal to the first full minute, whichever is greater" when entering paid areas, credited back toward purchases, and offers 5% to 20% off prepaid 15- to 60-minute blocks.

Prepaid tokens and credits cap your spending at your balance. Card-billed per-minute sites rely on spending limits instead; Streamate lets you lower a daily limit to $25.

Free content: where token sites win

Every token site above lets you watch public shows without paying. Credit sites offer some free chat, but with limits: LiveJasmin keeps free chat non-nude, Flirt4Free and XLoveCam cut guests off after a while, and SkyPrivate only sells calls. Memberships and recurring charges

Tokens and credits are normally one-off purchases. The recurring charges come from memberships, fan clubs and optional auto top-ups:

• Token sites: Chaturbate Supporter and CamSoda Premium are $19.95 a month; CAM4 Gold was €19.99 per 30 days on an EU checkout; Stripchat Ultimate's price is not public. BongaCams and MyFreeCams give premium status free with your first purchase and say they have no recurring charges.
• Credit sites: Flirt4Free VIP is $39.95 per 30 days with 150 credits (auto-renews), or longer non-renewing plans. LiveJasmin Pro starts with a free month, then bills every 30 days at a login-only price. Streamate and XLoveCam have no site-wide paid tier.

Expiry, refunds and leftover balance

Unused balance rules differ more than prices. CAM4 tokens unused for six months expire without refund, and Flirt4Free's terms say credits may expire after six months. Stripchat forfeits unused tokens if an account is terminated or inactive. On refunds, MyFreeCams will refund purchases from the last 30 days (up to $1,000) if enough tokens remain, Stripchat refunds your last package within 30 days if unused, and LiveJasmin refunds cash only for an entirely unused package.

What models earn: per token vs percentage

A fixed per-token value is easy to check but hides how much the platform keeps on small packages. A percentage tells you the split, but on credit sites with hidden credit prices you cannot verify it from the viewer side. Performers can compare more on webcam platform fees.

Which should you choose?

Pick a token site if you want to watch for free, tip now and then, and see prices before you pay. Pick a credit or per-minute site if you know you want one-on-one time and prefer a site built around it, and you are comfortable checking prices after sign-up. Either way, check the per-minute rate in the room and the price per unit at checkout before you start a show.
